If you're a smoker and an iPhone addict, help may be on its way. An app has been launched with some impressive research credentials behind it. Developed by the Canada Research Chair in Clinical Cyberpsychology and the University of Quebec: Quit Smoking Using iPhone, iPod or iPad With Nicot.
Apparently, in a study of 100 smokers, those who crushed virtual cigarettes in the game in four weekly sessions were 15% more likely to be successful in quitting. Using the app alongside other aids, like nicotine patches or gum, increased that success rate to 50%.
